Important Race Information, Tips and Instructions
PTC High School Challenge is the Largest High School Running Relay in the world!
DATES: August 24-25, 2018
TOTAL TEAMS: 50 teams of 12 runners (minimum 8)
RACE COURSE: PTC is 130 miles long. See Course Maps for more about the route.
TOTAL PARTICIPANTS: The 2018 event will include 600 runners and 3,600 volunteers
MOVIE: On 1/11/11 The Hood To Coast Movie premiered in theaters across the country, documenting the story of four teams, their lives and their journies to complete the race
The High School Challenge Start is located at the Eastbank Festival Plaza, adjacent to the Hawthorne Bridge! (Nearest address is: 20 SE Madison St, Portland, OR 97214).
One representative from each team is required for check-in; does not need to be Team Captain.
1) Present team safety equipment for inspection at the Equipment Check-in area 20 min. prior to Start Time
2) State your team number to Race Officials
3) Sign next to your team name on the official check-in sheet
Upon check-in, your team will be issued the current year Race Wrist Wrap. Without your Race Wrist Wrap and approval of Safety Equipment, teams will not be permitted to start.
Located on the beach, just north of the Broadway Avenue turnaround in Seaside, Oregon.
Teammates often cross the Finish Line with their "anchor" who is officially finishing the race. If your team chooses to do so, make sure:

The Hood To Coast/Portland To Coast Relays makes a sustained effort to integrate policies and programs throughout all operational aspects to minimize its environmental impact along the 130 mile course.
